I need Sanctuary!!!
First of all make sure the kids are good and asleep before starting if you can’t find a sitter for you to do this. You know I am about to say the dreaded â€Å“c†word….CLEAN…AGHHH there I said it ïŠYes you need to clean the bathroom right after the kids have had their baths and put away their tub toys , or better yet have them do it. Find you some candles and a nice relaxing beverage, like Chamomile Tea or wine if you prefer and set it to the side for a moment. Get what items you think you would need to help you relax in YOUR tub (now that the kids toys are put away that is what it is YOUR tub now.) , for me it is candles, my handcrafted body care items I make, Incense, and a soothing CD on the CD player. Place the items wherever you have space for them, and of course keeping all electronics WELL AWAY from any water source if possible. If you are lighting candles go ahead and do so while the water is running. I turn the Bathroom light off and bask in the soft candle light so I can meditate while in the tub. Once everything is to your liking and you are ready to get in GO FOR IT!! You deserve that little bit of quite time to regroup and think about NOTHING. Work on meditating and visualizing on positive things that happened throughout the day or what your dreams are. That is up to you what you do during your down time. I personally try to do this once a week (kids allowing from illnesses of course). Try to get yourself on a schedule (hey we do it for our kids why not for ourselves too) so you can begin to look forward to that weekly ritual of letting everything melt away for those few moments and take care of yourself for a change. Goodness know us mom’s put ourselves last 95% of the time and we end up run ragged and needing that time to relax and recoup just as much as our kids need naps.
So do yourself a favor and take the time out to take that tub over and turn it into your personal sanctuary to recharge your batteries and regroup for the next day/week. Your family will thank you for it!!

Do you suffer from acne or the occasional zit attack during your monthly cycle? This is a problem that plagues most teens and some women that are past their twenties. If you are among this group you are not alone. I myself suffer from the occasional breakout during my monthly cycle. Why is it that this happens? Well for starters, it could be something in your diet that could be causing you to have breakouts, or in the case for those of us that are older it could be a hormonal trigger, such as, your menstrual cycle. There are a number of reasons to why it could be happening and you just need to take a look at your diet, hormonal changes, and skin care regime. All this should be done under the eyes of a doctor be it a N.D. (Naturopathy Doctor), Licensed Esthetician, or a Dermatologist.
If you see a N.D. they will give you a more holistic (natural) way to go about how to treat your acne. They may tell you to use an oatmeal honey mask or to try a toner that is a mix of Rose Water and Lavender Essential oil. Your Esthetician may tell you or create the same type of products for you to use. A Dermatologist on the other hand depending if they lean on the holistic side or not may prescribe you an ointment or cream that has a bunch of chemicals in it. Though that is their call for what you may need.
At any rate if you are having an issue with your skin and you haven̢۪t been able to solve it on your own with the knowledge that you have you NEED to seek out professional help. They can help you figure out what it may be that is going on from blood work if it̢۪s a hormonal or allergic reaction to something in your diet or environment. This is why doctors are important so they can help us see things that we may not be able to see due to our lack of training for the inner workings of our bodies.

Benefits of Dry Brushing for the Lymphatic System
Dry brushing is a technique that you can use to help drain the body of these toxins such as, bacteria and viruses, which you may have recently had. Dry Brushing is not for everyone. Those that have Psoriasis, eczema, varicose veins, and/ or broken skin it is not recommended that you use this as a method of exfoliation.
To use this technique you will need a natural bristle brush with good stiff bristles. When doing dry brushing you want to start at you feet and work your way up to your heart. From your neck and arms work in the same direction towards the heart in long swift strokes with as much pressure as you can take. As you do this you will notice a large amount of dead skin cells being shed. This is needed so your body can properly filter out the impurities through the skin. If you pores are clogged you will be unable to filter out the toxins properly. Dry brushing can be done daily, but start off once a week and with gentle pressure. You should not use a scrub after dry brushing as this can irritate the skin. You want to use a good quality moisturizer such as our Shea Body Butter to replenish the moisture loss.

Benefits of olive oil
Many of us use olive oil in our cooking due to its low saturated fat content and benefits for our cardiovascular system with it being high in monounsaturated fats which helps raise our HDL (good) cholesterol levels. It has been shown that olive oil is also able to clean out our arteries to some extent due to this high level of this component in the oil. Some studies have seen that Olive oil also has anticarcinogenic properties in monounsaturated fat.
We should stock up on our Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) and use it both for our inner and external beauty.

here is how I did it:
The night b4 you go to vacuum:mix the baking soda and scented oil together using a flower sifter to make sure the fragrance gets well dispersed throughout the baking soda. Let it sit over night in a sealed container to let the scent permeate through.
When you go to vacuum:fill your flour sifter w/your batch of carpet powder and sprinkle lightly just as you would do any other store bought kind. Wait 5- 10 min then vacuum. Your house will smell wonderful and it was so much more cheaper to use the baking soda then buying the store bought!!!
It is safe around kids. I know because I have a 2 year old and a 5 yr old. The 2 yr old went to taste it and it didn't do anything to her. If you have any other household tips or tricks for natural household cleaning please share your comments!!
Brightest Blessings,

Which is Better?
Our company believes in the later of the two choices. More and more warnings and health issues seem to be popping up about all the chemicals in cosmetic and skin care products these days. For example there is a big push to stay away from paraben preserved products due to the hint of it being carcinogenic in mice. That is why at Christina's Crystal Scentsations we strive to only use chemical preservatives if it is truely necessary. All of our products are paraben free and use only the highest quality ingredients derived from nature.
The only products that we carry that would contain a chemical preservative is our lotions, creams, and scrubs due to the introduction of water.
Anytime you introduce water into the equation you are bound to have issues with microbial growth. Which is why we use a chemical preservative blend. All of our products go through many tests to ensure there safety and follow the FDA guidlines for cosmetic making. We strive to have the highest quality product to meet your needs.
So the questions still remains...Which is better massive amounts of chemicals in your cosmetic products or minimal amount of chemicals all of which in any case are absorbed through the skin and end up in your bloodstream.
