Hello to all!!Have you ever run out of carpet powder and not been able to buy it for one reason or another? Well I have been in this situation for several months. I came up with the idea that if you take some baking soda and add a little bit of Essential or fragrance oil to it you can use that to make a fresh scented carpet deodorizer!!!
here is how I did it:
The night b4 you go to vacuum:mix the baking soda and scented oil together using a flower sifter to make sure the fragrance gets well dispersed throughout the baking soda. Let it sit over night in a sealed container to let the scent permeate through.
When you go to vacuum:fill your flour sifter w/your batch of carpet powder and sprinkle lightly just as you would do any other store bought kind. Wait 5- 10 min then vacuum. Your house will smell wonderful and it was so much more cheaper to use the baking soda then buying the store bought!!!
It is safe around kids. I know because I have a 2 year old and a 5 yr old. The 2 yr old went to taste it and it didn't do anything to her. If you have any other household tips or tricks for natural household cleaning please share your comments!!
Brightest Blessings,
